The Alice and Herbert Sachs Therapeutic Conservatory and Garden (opened April 10th, 2014), is a dedicated space for MossRehab's clinical Horticultural Therapy program. The conservatory offers patients, family members, staff and visitors a beautiful, unexpected oasis for respite and restoration, while also offering patients an opportunity to meet their rehabilitation goals (occupational, physical, speech and recreation therapy) by engaging in horticulture and nature based therapeutic activities.
The Horticultural Therapy Program utilizes a clinical approach, in which plants and plant related activities are used as a treatment tool, a patient's goals and objectives are defined and progress is assessed and documented by a Registered Horticultural Therapist (HTR). The HTR works cooperatively with the treatment team, offering functional leisure activities in the conservatory and the garden for patient engagement. Group, individual, and co-treat sessions are offered. Physical, cognitive, social, psychological, and restorative/respite domains can be addressed through our Horticultural Therapy and Garden program.
Feel free to stop by to take a breather, eat your lunch, or just to sit in a peaceful place and enjoy your surroundings!
