We can appreciate that a new baby brings new considerations!  Below are some Einstein-specific benefits that you may want to consider.  Please note, that if you plan on adding your new baby to your health insurance, you must act within 30 days of your baby's birth.  Contact the Benefits department at Benefits@einstein.edu!  Otherwise you will have to wait until the next annual enrollment to do so.

Virgin Pulse: Pregnancy Support

Any benefit-eligible employee and/or spouse on an Einstein health plan, has access to various pregnancy support options through the Virgin Pulse Portal.  Virgin Pulse offers four different Journeys you can select to assist with a healthy pregnancy.  These Journeys break down the healthiest nutrition, exercise and preventative care practices into small, doable steps suggested right when women are ready and motivated to start building new, healthier lives.  These Journeys include:

  • Trimester 1 - Get a Healthy Start:  The first months of pregnancy are filled with excitement, yet there's so much to learn too.  This Journey offers loads of doable suggestions for eating, sleeping, minimizing morning sickness and more.  Learn the importance of exercise and healthy eating as you set the stage for the next six months.
  • Trimester 2 - Grow Better Habits:  The second trimester of pregnancy is thrilling, but it can also be filled with questions and not-so-fun things like heartburn and body aches.  Learn exercises and techniques to manage your growing body.  Feel confident you're taking the right steps for you and your baby, including eating well and maintaining a healthy weight.
  • Trimester 3 - Get Ready for Baby:  You're nearly there!  This Journey will help guide you through your final months of pregnancy with tips on sleeping, de-stressing and staying active.  You'll also learn some smart ways to prep for delivery day plus ideas to make life a little simpler once baby arrives.
  • Plan Well for a Well Child Journey:  You want your kids to grow into strong, healthy, happy adults.  This Journey helps parents identify free services offer by their health plan, identify and overcome barriers to medical visits such as transportation and child care, and learn more about the many important free preventative health services provided during a well-child visit.

RedBrick Health also has health coaches that can provide pregnancy support through phone coaching!  You can log into the portal to schedule a coaching appointment at a time that is convenient for you.

Other Einstein Benefits

Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

Sign-up within 30 days of your child's birth, or during annual enrollment.  A Dependent Care FSA enables you to save money by setting aside a portion of your paycheck tax-free to pay for dependent care expenses so that you may work.  IRS regulations allows up to $5,000 per calendar year per family.  Examples of expenses that qualify for your baby may include daycare, babysitter, au pair or nanny services.  You may also use your Dependent Care FSA dollars for preschool, nursery school, day camp, before and after school programs for older siblings, up to age 13.

College Tuition Assistance

To enroll, call 888-247-6248 or go to www.collegetuitionbenefits.com.  This benefit provides you with a college scholarship to designated institutions for your child, grandchild, niece or nephew, as long as you register him/her before completion of 10th grade.  Hundreds of colleges and universities participate and more are joining every year.  When you enroll your receive 1,000 tuition reward points.  Your spouse can also enroll and receive 500 points.  Each year, you receive a 5% match of your total Einstein 403(b) balance or 3,000 points, whichever is greater.

Einstein LiveWell Pharmacy

Carebridge Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Einstein's Company Code: 9F86J.  Call 215-456-8484, press #3 to connect directly to Carebridge.  You are busier these days and it's common to feel overwhelmed with responsibilities.  Get 6 free sessions for each life or work topic you want to address with a counselor specially trained in dealing with your specific area of concern.  Carebridge is a completely voluntary and confidential service that offers employees and their dependents an opportunity to resolve personal problems and help balance the demands of everyday life.  Services are available 24/7.  You get unlimited consultations, resources, and referrals on work-life issues.

403(b) Retirement Savings

For more information or to make or increase your contribution, visit netbenefits.com, call Fidelity at 800-343-0860, or contact Amira at AdamsAmi@einstein.edu.  Keep funding your retirement!  Now that your baby is here, it's easy to forget or hold off on saving for retirement.  Contribute up to $19,000 a year from your pay.  Einstein offers a partial match.  You may have been automatically enrolled (currently at 3% for new hires since 2015).

Supplemental Life Insurance

For more information to enroll, visit metlife.com/mybenefits.  The importance of having life insurance is greater when you start your family.  Einstein provides full-time employees with FREE basic life insurance.  If you have Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance, you may want to add your child as a beneficiary of your life insurance in PRISM.  You may also purchase additional insurance for yourself, spouse/domestic partner, or dependent children.  Please note: you must elect coverage for yourself in order to cover your eligible dependents under this benefits plan.

Short-Term Disability Insurance

To enroll in the short-term disability through Assurity, call 888-516-7856 (Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm).  Now that your household expenses have grown, short-term disability insurance may be the extra protection you want to know you can keep paying for them in the event of an accident.  While Einstein provides full-time employees with basic long-term disability coverage at no charge to the employee, you may want short-term disability to cover the first 90 days of a disability.

Gym Discounts

Visit our Discounted Gym Membership page to see what special discounts you can receive just for being an Einstein employee!  Exercising is a great way to relieve stress and boost energy.  Some fitness centers even have babysitting services available!

Returning to Work and Breastfeeding

Einstein is committed to providing support to nursing mothers who continue to breastfeed after returning to work.  Einstein will provide reasonable flexibility for mothers to take breaks to express breast milk during the workday.  Einstein provides suitable private space for employees who are breastfeeding, shielded from view and free from intrusion from co-workers and the public.  At the Philadelphia Medical Center, employees may have access to lactation rooms on Lifter 2 and 3.  At Einstein Elkins Park, employees have access to a patient room on the 3 West Nursing Unit, Room 305.  At Einstein Montgomery, employees have a Mamava unit on the 3rd floor, as well as the 1st floor by the North Entrance.  There is also a staff pumping room on the 2nd floor.  If you wish to pump at work and a room is not available, your manager should work with you to find a suitable location.
